To achieve ultimate dynamic realism with rolling road systems, MTS has developed an advanced Model Motion System (MMS) capable of applying force and motion in multiple degrees-of-freedom to the vehicle models during aerodynamic simulations.

  • Overhead hexapod motion platform positions test model (pitch, roll, heave and internal yaw drive) in the flow stream above the rolling road
  • Model-based 6DOF balance measures forces and moments
  • Enables continuous motion playout with high precision and accuracy
  • Fully synchronized with through-the-belt force measurement and optional wheel support arm systems
